Please share a memory of Lois to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
De Lois " Lois" Nola (Williams) Gorman born to Dewell and Etina (Nelson)
Williams on April 25 , 1928 at Ashley Creek, Missouri went home to be with her Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ on September 23,2015 , at Texas County Memorial Hospital in
Houston, Missouri.
She spent most of her childhood working on the family farm in Dent County,
Missouri. As a teenage girl Lois worked at Montauk State Park, before marrying her
husband Alfred James Gorman on November 20,1946. To this union they were blessed
with three children, Velma, James (Jim), and Larry. They resided in Dent County except
for the time they spent living in California ( 1951-1956) where her husband worked as a
produce farmer.
Some of her favorite memories were spent in the log woods working alongside
her husband and her children .She often recounted stories of them being out there as a
family picking up pinecones, huckleberries and anything to keep busy. Lois was a
lifelong member of The Montauk Baptist Church where her and her husband spent
many years driving the church bus. Lois was a believer in our Lord and Savior and was
saved as a young woman. She enjoyed attending church at Montauk until her health no
longer permitted.
She will most often be remembered by her loved ones as always keeping busy.
Many of them recount the times she was always cleaning an animal whether it be a
squirrel, rabbit, or whatever it may have been that Alfred brought home. She enjoyed
spending time with all of her grandchildren, and watching them while their parents were
working. She had a great love of animals and would feed anyone and anything that ever
came around. Some of her most cherished memories were spent with her family. She
was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who
had the pleasure of meeting her.
