Obituary of Orval Wayne Robbins

Orval Wayne Robbins entered into his eternal rest on August 7, 2014. He was born on February 7, 1951 to George Washington Robbins and Mayme Mae (Alvey) Robbins at his home in rural Phelps County,MO. He was united in marriage to Linda Jean (Harris) Robbins on October 2, 1976. To this union was born one son George Irvin , two daughters Darla Mae Robbins and Amanda Jean (Robbins) Douglas. Orval Wayne was an avid coon hunter and farmer. He enjoyed raising and training hounds and passing on his love for hunting to his son and grandsons. He loved taking his grandsons on tractor rides and across the farm to feed the animals. He loved watching the Andy Griffith Show with his family. He sang, played the guitar, fiddle and harmonica. He loved to fish and take his grandsons up to the pond. He spent many hours in the garden. He worked 29 years at the Phelps County Highway Dept. as an equipment operator and foreman. Orval became the full-time pastor at Edgar Springs Assembly of God in 1996. He preached the word of God with passion and sensitivity. His faith made him the man he was in life. He loved the Lord with all his heart and lived his witness before his family and friends. His desire was for everyone to accept God’s great salvation plan in their lives. He is preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Jim, Tom, George, Leo, Larry and Doyle; a sister, Maxcine. He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; a son, George and his wife, Lori of Edgar Springs, Missouri; two daughters, Darla Robbins of Springfield, Oregon and Amanda and her husband, Luke of West Plains, Missouri; six grandsons, Wayne Dale, Glen Eugene, Mars Oberon, Rhys Alexander, Gideon James and Josiah Jack; brothers, Darrell, Wilbern, Cord, and Walter; sisters, Wanda and Birdie; mother-in-law, Darlene Harris; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and family so very much. He will be greatly missed by a host of family, friends and neighbors.
