Obituary of Beverly Hockman

Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beloved mother, Beverly Ann Hockman joined our father quietly on Monday, July 20th, 2015. Beverly was born in Wichita, Kansas, on September 10, 1931 to the late Floyd and Nora (Brittendall) Mustoe. It was there she married the love of her life, James "Jay" Leroy Hockman on April 17, 1949 just before her senior year of high school had ended. During their time together, they lived in Kansas, California, Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma - all the while raising and loving their five children. Over the years, Beverly worked at home, in school cafeterias, and supervised senior citizen lunch programs in both Salem and Licking, MO. She loved to cook and tend to her flower garden. She especially enjoyed making quilts for each new family celebration - new grandbaby, wedding, or birthday. Her greatest love was her family. She is survived by her children: Jim Hockman of Greeley, CO; Steven (Judy) Hockman of Bonner Springs, KS; Chet (Cathie) Hockman of Wichita, KS; Susan (Dan) Watkins of Rolla, MO; and Nancy (Ken) Warren of Springdale, AR. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Nathan Hockman, Jared Hockman, Daniel Hockman, Rebekah Hockman, Elizabeth Yung, Lisa Niemann, Tim Cook, Melissa Cook, Chris Whittle, Joshua Whittle, and her sixteen great grandchildren. In death, Beverly will be joining her parents, brothers (Glenn and Richard), husband, and grandson (Benjamin). Her quiet, loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
