Edward "Ed" Zander Obituary

Edward J. Zander, 95, son of Frank and MiMi Zander, was born September 5, 1919 in St. Louis, Missouri. He died June 24, 2015 at Licking Park Manor.

Ed was raised in St. Louis. He enlisted in the Army February 28, 1941. He served his country in World War II; he was stationed in the Aleutian Islands.

He married Mary Jane Merrell in 1944. They raised two sons in the St. Louis area. After Ed’s retirement from Lincoln Engineering (now Pentair), he and Mary moved to Licking, Missouri to live near friends from the Missouri Trout Association. Ed enjoyed fishing, turkey hunting and road trips across the U.S.

Ed lived in Licking 29 years. He was an active and devoted member of St. John Catholic Church as well as the local VFW post. He considered Licking his hometown.

Ed is survived by his sons, James (Arlene) of Wisconsin, Thomas (Barbara) of Washington; four grandsons, one granddaughter and three great grandchildren.
