Obituary of Zelta Garrison

Zelta Mae (York) Garrison, daughter of the late Cyrus and Lydia (Hebblethwaite) York, was born April 5, 1933, in Licking, MO. She went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2015, at her home in Licking, MO. She was united in marriage to Loren Garrison on March 31, 1951, at the courthouse in Salem, MO. Zelta was baptized into the Assembly of God Church in Licking, MO, in October 1982. She attended church every Sunday until Loren’s health and her health kept her home. She worked at Rawlings Sporting Goods as an inspector for many years. Zelta enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was always happy when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to visit. Her one hobby was her many flowers and flower beds. Anyone who had questions about house plants or other flowers knew she had the answer. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren Garrison; parents Cyrus and Lydia (Hebblethwaite) York; son-in-law, Billie Goins; two brothers, Lloyd York and Jim York; 4 infant siblings; two sisters-in-law, Connie York and Geraldine York; one brother-in-law, Ted Craig. Survivors include her daughters, Judy Goins and Cathy Garrison; three grandchildren, Bradley Goins and wife Jeannie, Carrie Gifford and husband Sam, and Chantel Garrison; seven great-grandchildren. Siblings, Betty James (Lee), Mary York (Dale) and Bill York of Raymondville; Patsy Hood, Martha Ice (Larry), and John York of Licking; Grace Dunkin (Rob) of Wentzville, MO; Wesley York of Witchita Falls, TX; Ruby Craig of Winona, MO; a sister-in-law, Elvinia York of Salem, MO. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and special friend Margaret Burch, among others.
