Loraine Garner, daughter of the late Stephen Grover and Lola Blanch (McChord) Kinslow, was born August 11, 1924 in St. Louis County, Missouri and went to the Lord after a short illness on March 11, 2013 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Linley D. Garner Jr. on January 3, 1943 at the Marvin Park United Methodist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. She was an active member of the Licking United Methodist Church. During the war she worked as a riveter at Curtis Wright before becoming a full time housewife and mother. She loved tending her roses. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Linely D. Garner Jr.; five children, Shirley Welker of St. Peters, Missouri, Judi Grafer of Owensville, Missouri, Janet Garner of Maplewood, Missouri, Terry Garner of Katy, Texas, and Sherry Tallent of Leasburg, Missouri; two brothers, William Kinslow of Des Loge, Missouri and Doug Kinslow of St. Charles, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; two children, Richard and Kathleen Garner; three grandchildren, DeYonna Paige, Sean Million, and Dustin Garner; and one brother, Edward “Bud” Kinslow.
