Please share a memory of Jimmy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jimmy Ray Huff (Jim) was born to Bert and Evelyn Huff on January 28, 1965, in Pampa, Texas. Jim left his earthly home on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the age of 59, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. He was a caring father and grandfather, and a friend to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alta; his parents, Bert Huff Sr. and Evelyn Huff; his brothers, Wayne, and Joe Huff; brothers-in-law Tilden, Narvel, Dale, and Harold Sullins; Benji Gale; sisters-in-law Beulah, Kaye, Pat Sullins, and Bertha Burgess; and his son-in-law, Michael Naylor. He is survived by a large and loving family. His children include Scotty Sullins of Niangua, Steven Skidmore and wife Teresa, and daughter Gretchen Naylor, all of Licking; his grandchildren, Chandra and Husband Rick Chastain of Mary Esther, Florida, Deandra and fiancé Rob Stapleton of Rolla, Bailey Booker and Husband Steve of Licking, Owen Skidmore of Licking, Lucas Green and Fiancé Priscilla of Cantina, Sicily, Cade Sullins and Wife Skylar of Osage Beach, Makenna Skidmore and Austin James of Licking; his great grandchildren, Sawyer Chastain, Reggie, Max, and Jordan Stapleton, Hazel, Kennedy, and Grayson Sullins. All of them were the light of his life and he poured his heart into every moment spent with them. Brothers, Bub Huff of Licking; Danny Huff and wife Alice of Miami Texas; sisters Mary Riley and husband Steven of Amarillo, Texas; Connie Williams of Miami, Texas; and Ellen Duncan; along with a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Harvey Sullins and wife Carol, Frank Sullins, Maybelle Gale, Zedena Ullom and husband Kenny, Geneva Burgdorf, Sharon Kay Sullins, and many extended family members. Jim fully embraced the role of Dad, and later Grandpa, with open arms and an open heart. He treated each member of his blended family as his own. The love he showed, the laughter he created, and the memories he made will forever live in the hearts of those lucky enough to call him family. A love for the outdoors defined many of Jim’s happiest moments. He spent countless weekends at the lake, casting a line and enjoying his home away from home. Whether he was fishing or sharing hunting trips with his little buddy, those moments were filled with laughter, unforgettable memories, and maybe just a little AC/DC playing on the radio. Jim was a hardworking and dedicated man, known for his loyalty to his friends and colleagues at Akers Sawmill. His work ethic and friendship earned him respect and lasting bonds. His long-time job at Akers wasn't just a place to work; it was a second home where he made lifelong friendships and his presence there will be deeply missed. Rest easy, Jim.
