Shirley Ann Umfleet born February 20, 1938 of Licking, MO passed peacefully from this life to her heavenly home on September 20, 2024. The daughter of George and Thelma Van Deusen, Shirley grew up and graduated from Licking High School in 1957. Upon completion of school Shirley spent many years in Florissant, working as an executive secretary for McDonnell Douglas, where she met and married her husband Marvin of 54 years. Shirley carried herself with grace and strove for peace her entire life. She was a loving mother, a fabulous cook and an avid antique hunter. Through the years she poured her heart into whatever church they attended, during each phase of her life. Shirley was active in many clubs and activities and church duties including: choir, the global shoebox ministry, and teaching vacation bible school. Filling her years of retirement, Shirley and Marvin enjoyed great travels from Greece to Israel, Brazil, and Hawaii sand bridges before settling into a decade of life at Cape Canaveral Florida. Following the years in Florida Shirley and Marvin retired back in Licking, Missouri. She is survived by her children; Jana (James) Harper of Wentzville, MO, Beth (Ron) Astoff of New Melle, MO, Timothy (Gina) Umfleet of Licking, MO, Greg Seibert of Mascoutah, IL; foster daughter, Sharon (George) Blair; two brothers, Larry (Myrna) Van Deusen, Dennis (Judy) Bailie; brother-in-law, Roger Maxwell; step-siblings, Margaret, Kathy, and Lady; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family; She is preceded in death by her father, George William Van Deusen, mother, Thelma Bailie (nee Beasley), husband, Marvin Lee Umfleet, brother, William Van Deusen, sister, Sandy Floyd and her husband, Bill, sister, Georgie Maxwell, sister, Robin Ringstead, step-siblings, Robert, Beatrice, Barb, Sheila, and Jerry.
