Obituary of Robert Dale Bartley

Robert Dale Bartley “Stutter Bug”, 63, of Licking, MO passed away May 3, 2021 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, MO. He was born on October 14, 1957 to the late Loyd Dean and Wanda Bartley in Callaway County, MO. Survivors include the love of Bug’s life, Tammy Giller; and her daughters, Christina and Jennifer; one son, Randy Shepherd; Bug’s grandbabies, Trenton and Elijah Jackson, Malyki Dale, and Makenzie Shepherd, and Isaac, Noah, and Aunna Routh; four sisters, Laura Buckner and husband, Gar of Licking, MO, Janet Gerling and husband, Terry, Gail Christian, and Missy Paschang all of Mokane, MO; along with lots of nieces, nephews, uncle, and aunts. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Wanda Bartley; grandparents, James and Abbigale Bartley and Bill and Violet Ward; one brother, Michael Dean Bartley; and one very special niece, Wendy Akers. Bobby enjoyed being outdoors. It didn’t matter if he was working outside doing timber work or logging or casting a rod and reel into a pond. He loved any activity that was outside. Often times Bobby enjoyed riding four wheelers and barbecuing with friends and family. He also enjoyed target shooting cans or bottles or pretty much anything that wasn’t nailed down. Bobby was a collector of pocketknives and zippo lighters. When a Jimmy Hendrix song came on, no matter where he was at, Bobby would turn the music up loud. Although Bobby never had a college education, what he learned he learned in the hustle. That way of life is hard but leaving it was even harder. Bobby always hustled but he always put family first. Without hesitation, Bobby would give a family member his last dime or the shirt off his back if they needed it. Bobby had a big heart. A generous heart. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Fox Funeral Home in Licking, MO with Pastor Jason Akers (nephew) officiating.
