Carl W. Sharp, age 68, son of Albert and Ruby (Isom) Sharp, was born December 18, 1946 in Russell, Arkansas and went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 20, 2015, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Climmie Willbanks; one daughter, Amanda Case; two sisters: Bonnie Sandefur and Margaret Pennington; two brothers: A.J. Sharp and Jerry Sharp; one sister-in-law, Lauvell Crews; three brothers-in-law: John Willbanks, Paul Wingenbach, and Lavern Willbanks; and two nieces: Leata Crews-Coker and Katherine Willbanks. Carl married Kathy Joyce Willbanks on August 30, 1992. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; one daughter, Angela Sullins and husband, Danny; one granddaughter, Macie Hall and husband, Dalton; one grandson, Dawson Sullins all of Licking; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and friends. Carol joined the 3rd Battalion, 508th Infantry at the age of eighteen. He transferred to the 4th Battalion, 41st Infantry as a Paratrooper. He proudly served his country with honor from September 16, 1964 to September 15, 1967. He received a National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, and a Marksman Rifle Badge. Carl was an active member of the Licking Pentecostal Holiness Church as long as his health permitted. He loved to spend time with family fishing and hunting.
