Obituary of Kristie Marie Ice

Please share a memory of Kristie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kristie Marie (Johnston) Ice was born March 28th, 1969 in Dallas Texas to David and Judy (Vest) Johnston. After a long fight Kristie was called to the Lord on May 22, 2020 surrounded by loved ones in her home. In April of 1975, her family moved from Dallas, TX to Montauk MO. In 1986 while shopping in Stanley’s Supermarket with her grandmother, she met a carryout boy who she quickly realized was the love of her life, Michael Ice. They were married on June 11, 1988. With the love they had for each other, Michael and Kristie created two beautiful children, Stephanie Marie and Mathew Dale to complete their family. While her favorite roles in life were being a mom, wife and grandma. Kristie loved being around babies and children. So, it was really no surprise when she felt the calling to stay home and care for children in her home. She loved each one of them like they were her own. Kristie had a beautiful smile, kind heart, and a willingness to help others. When Kristie had free time, she enjoyed activities that involved her ladies’ group at church, scrapbooking, and couponing, she absolutely loved to find those deals! Some of Kristie’s favorite days were enjoyed with her husband where they would spend time together by shopping at Mardel’s and Hobby Lobby. They would end these perfect days by eating at her favorite restaurant, Olive Garden. She also found joy in torturing her husband by making him watch the Hallmark Channel and Days of Our Lives with her. While Kristie missed her late momma, she was always a daddy’s girl and there is no doubt about the love she had in her heart for the Lord. Kristie loved her children immensely and was proud and excited about the families they are creating. Kristie’s last months, weeks and days were not easy. While her body may have given up on her, she never stopped fighting and was determined to live for her family. Kristie was preceded in death by her mother, Judy Johnston; grandmother, Erma Johnson ;and uncle, Gary Lowe. She is survived by husband, Michael; son, Matthew (Danielle) Ice; daughter, Stephanie (Tommy) Barton; seven beautiful grandchildren, Bradly, Carter, and Cory Ice, and Patricia, Jordan, Colten, Shayden Barton and three new additions expected to join the family later this year; father, David Johnston; brother, John Johnston; and sister, Faunette Johnston. Kristie also cherished her in-laws, Larry and Martha Ice; brother-in-law, Andy (Jennifer) Ice; sister-in-law, Laresa (Shannon) Terrill; nieces and nephews, Sydney and Easton Ice, and Abby and Joey Terrill. Kristie has also left behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends that she loved. May we find strength and peace in having felt your love, seeing your courage and the determination you had to live. As you whispered to all of us “we love you and we are sure going to miss you!” Pallbearers; Matthew Ice, John Johnston, Andy Ice, Easton Ice, Tommy Barton, Shannon Terrill Honorary pallbearers; Randy Harris, Richard Bates, Bill Nemyer, Brad Brunkhorst Visitation was held from 12:00 -2:00 Tuesday May 26th with funeral service to follow at 2:00 at Fox Funeral Home with Alan Moss and Roy Robertson officiating.
