I met Jeannie when I was a junior in college and moved below her in the apartments that she was managing. She became an instant friend and role model! I'll never forget her going out on a limb for me and co signing for my very first car loan. She taught me that a car is not clean until the tires are "armoralled". We would go down to Hot Springs in the early spring and bet on the horses, go to Linden in the summer and hang out (with a blow up doll called Ursula). Jeannie was responsible, yet, funny and had a huge loving heart. I will never forget The Greatest of All Hollandos!! Natasha Thompson

The first thing that came to my mind was the song by the Eagles “ There’s a Hole in the World Tonight “. That’s how it feels when we lose someone so bright and beautiful as Jeannie. Her spirit was so warm and wonderful I will never forget her. She was a blessing to all she touched.

I worked with Jeannie at AT&T .
When you first meet her, you notice right away her humor.
You always wanted to be in her circle. She was always so funny.
She would give her friends a nick name . You might remember one that she gave you . Mine was BooBoo Kitty . I may not be the only one she called that. That's ok, I was happy enough that she gave me a nick name.
She was a bit of a prankster . I'll share with you , two pranks she played on me while working at AT&T.
I drove an old 1954 black Chrysler New Yorker. It was a standard , with a clutch , once you put it in drive, it then became an automatic, until you turned it off. I always left the keys in the floor board . Now, remember this was in the 80's , no one even locked their cars back then. My friend Cathy said not to leave your keys in the car because some one would steal it. I said no one would steal it because they would not know how to operate it. Well, Cathy told Jeannie about me leaving the keys in the car
Sooo, One evening ,while I was working my shift, Cathy and Jeannie get together and Cathy told Jeannie how to put the car in gear with the clutch. and Jeannie said , I can drive it . So, Jeannie and Cathy moved my car in the parking lot of the motel north of the phone company, and then hide in the bushes . So, now it was time for me to get off, and here I come out and can't find my car, of course my 1st thought was someone stole my car. This whole time Jeannie and Cathy are rollin in the grass laughing their butts off watching me frantically throwing my hands in the air and holding my head yelling some one stole my car. I need to call the police . So here the two of them come out of the bushes laughing and saying , don't leave your keys in the car. Some people do know how to start your car .
You don't ever want to put those two together. In fact, I have another fond prankster memory of working with Jeannie.
In our work area, all our consoles faced a blank wall .
We had no pictures to look at , nothing on the walls. It was suggested to management to put up a floor to ceiling mural. So they did.
It was really kinda nice, It was an outdoor scene of the woods , beautiful trees with the leaves turning colors . It was a nice change. It stayed on the wall until the office closed it doors for the last time. I remember that day well. Like I said you never know what is going to happen when Jeannie and Cathy are together. Last day of work . It was like graduating high school, you may never see some of these people again, Sadly, I drove slow down my street thinking about how sad the day was. I pulled in my driveway and , to my surprise , I started laughing so hard,
On my two car garage door was this beautiful , woodsey,
fall, colored leaves , from top to bottom , side to side. of my garage, I loved it . My two prankster buddies had taped that beautiful mural on my garage door. Those two
Over the years I had the pleasure of having Jeannie as a dear friend , And got to enjoy her humor . She was a beautiful , sweet, caring , generous, lovely friend, who I will miss so very much. We made lots of memories together.
I will miss those pranks. My life will be forever changed with out her in it. She touched a lot of peoples lives. She brought a lot of friends back together .
I was so blessed to have had her call me her friend . Carol

Such an awesome aunt and a great person. I will always remember how you referred to me and my brothers as ‘your boys’. Along with the cool cars you drove throughout your life and the influence you had on the music I listen to even today. You will never be forgotten and your spirit will remain with me. I love you and will miss you Aunt Jeannie.

Jeannie had the most infectious laugh. Everyone who ever knew her loved her. I know I did and I will miss her greatly. She was a good softball player, bowler, and basketball player. We played on Baliff & Dulins Misfits softball team in the mid-1970s and I remember many a night after a game going to Shakey’s Pizza. Good times! We met at SW Bell 45+ years ago and then worked together again, her at CU and me at the City of Springfield. Jeannie was the absolute best! I would greet her as Gloria Jean and she called me Old Heifer. She always made me laugh and smile. My prayers are with the family and all who knew and will miss Jeannie and her beautiful soul.
