Obituary of Fern E. O'Malley

Fern Ethel O’Malley, 96, of Licking passed away October 12, 2019.  Fern was born on May 18, 1923 in Rhyse, MO, the daughter of James Chalmer Campbell and Ethel Malinda (Sharp) Campbell. 

In her youth, Fern enjoyed riding horses.  Fern worked in a defense plant during the War and then at the Licking Ball Factory.

During her second marriage, she and Pete O’Malley enjoyed travelling through the United States, wintering in Arizona, and visiting Canada.  She was an avid walker.

Fern is preceded in death by her husbands, Pete O’Malley and Bill Welch; parents, Chalmer and Ethel Campbell; sister, Faye Campbell; brothers, Darrell, Donald, Kenneth, Bonard, and Clair Campbell. 

She is survived by sons, Terry Welch and Bonard Welch; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Services for Fern will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Fox Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St, Licking with Dave Barnes.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the service time.  Interment will follow at O’Malley Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Jacob Heithold, Shannon Welch, Evan Welch, Ryan Welch, John O’Malley, and Tony O’Malley.  Memorial contributions in Fern’s name may be made to O’Malley Cemetery or the Zion Church Fund.  Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be left at www.foxfh.net
