Obituary of William Norman "Hog" Hooper

William Norman “Hog” Hooper, 68, son of William Roland “Bill” Hooper and Claryce Cristell Michael, was born on January 13, 1951 at Cape Girardeau, Mo.  He departed this life on July 20, 2019 after a long struggle of bad health.

Soon after graduation from Licking High School he was united in marriage to Katherine Marie Bailie on July 19, 1969 in Licking, Mo and to this union two children were born.

Norman is survived by his wife, Kathy; one son, Bradley Joe Hooper and wife, Amber of Houston, MO; one daughter, Tricia Lynn Meadors and husband, Bradd of Montgomery, TX; four grandchildren, Nicole Cook and husband, Derek of Bucyrus, MO, Cole Hooper of Houston, MO, McKenna Meadors and Ayden Meadors of Montgomery, TX; three brothers, Ronald Hooper and wife, Susan of Pacific, MO, Stanley Hooper and wife, Beverly of Pacific, MO, Mike Hooper and Kathy of New Baden, IL; two sisters, Sharon Maslowsky and husband, Bill of Ozark, MO and Cynthia Twitchel and husband, Dennis of Walnut Grove, MO; one brother in law, James W. Bailie and wife, Ginny of Palmetto, FL; and one sister in law, Carolyn (Totten) Hooper of Shelbina, MO.  He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Nothing made him glow more than family and all the children, and the goals and accomplishments as they have grown-so proud!!!

Norman enjoyed life to the fullest.  Motorcycles, cars, and racing them.  His motto became “fix and repair daily.” 

He began working at the Fort Wood commissary for tips, and then furniture packing, and on to manage the Houston/Licking RediMix where he worked for over 40 years until his bad health and retirement; along with his son and daughter, when summers allowed.

Norman became a member of the First Baptist Church at a young age. 

He was a dedicated father, provider, mentor, and friend.  His laughter and sheepish grin will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
