Obituary of Johnny A. Rodgers

Please share a memory of Johnny to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mr. Johnny Rodgers, son of the late Roscoe and Marie Rodgers was born on September 27, 1955 at Salem Hospital and was called to the Lord on January 21, 2019 on his farm.

Johnny was raised on the family farm and worked with his father, Roscoe and his grandfather, John Thomas Rodgers through their lifetime.  Johnny’s love for farming continued throughout the rest of his life seeing the many changes and challenges that farm life presented.

Johnny was united in marriage to the love of his life, Tressia Lu Jones on May 31, 1974.  To this marriage, two children were born; Lynette Nicole and Joshua John.

He loved farm life, hunting and fishing, but as much as he loved the outdoors, nothing compared to the love that he had for his family.  “Pa” as he was known by his grandkids, who absolutely adored him.  His life was centered around them and the entire family.

Johnny dedicated his life to the Lord as a child and was baptized at Boone Creek Church.  Johnny served on many boards throughout the years, including MFA, Licking School Board and Boone Creek Cemetery Board.  He had many friends and was loved and respected by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother.  He is survived by his wife, Tressia; a daughter, Lynette Sundell (Justin); a son, Josh Rodgers (Jaime); two sisters, Ann Fox and Judy Shelton (Bob); two grandchildren, Ryle Sundell and Jasper Rodgers and a host of other relatives and friends.
