I worked with Mike for several years at John and Pete's Liquors in West Hollywood during the 1980's. Mike was a caring person with a great sense of humor. We would spend many shifts joking and laughing at the register. I was saddened to hear of his untimely death. I wish the best for his kids and family. I will always remember you, Mike.

Mike was always ready to give a presentation in my classes for Drury University. He did an outstanding job with the students. He was also a great friend to the kids at Licking School. They all liked and looked up to him. He is and will be greatly missed by the community. We are praying for peace and God's comfort for his family.

Mike you will be missed terribly by all that knew you. Thank you for being such a dear friend to myself, Billy, Cody, and Cole. Most of all thank you for honoring mom the way you did at her funeral. That will always be in our hearts and very much appreciated by me and all of us.
Athena and boys, you are in our thoughts and prayers every single day. Always remember what a good person your dad is and how he helped everyone. We love you all very much and will be sending hugs your way!

Mike will be missed by my husband and myself. We loved him as if he were our own son. He was the father of three of our grandchildren, and he will never be forgotten by us. We will see him in their sweet faces, mannerisms, and loving nature. Bethany, we know that you lost a friend that you have known for over twenty years. Kids, we know that time has a way of healing your broken hearts. We are here and we love you.

I have known Mike since the sixth grade. This news was shocking and devastating. This opened a tremendous hole in my heart and the heart of my family. I was angry at first but now my anger has turned to tremendous sadness. You touched all of our lives in a very special way. You were a very special person. When I think of you and I will think of you often, a smile will come to my face, I will laugh, remembering the good times we had, and then a tear will come to my eye. Athena, Nicholas, and Anthony your father was a very special and was very proud of the three of you. Mike found a happy place in Licking Missouri. We all missed him when he left Los Angeles. But I am very happy he found a special home in Missouri. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you always, Bethany, Athena, Nicholas and we all missed him when he left Los Angeles. But I am very happy he found a special home in Missouri. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you always, Bethany, Athena, Nicholas and and Anthony. Rest in peace my good friend.

I don't know where to begin. Mike was a great man. He was my friend, and a brother. It takes a lot to make me cry, but I cried a lot on Monday for my friend. I looked up to Mike, when I become a law enforcement officer I hope I can make him proud. It is said a man never truly dies if someone remembers their name, I will always carry the name of Michael Hood with me, and share it with others. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his chrildren. You were the light in his world. If any of you ever need anything, a shoulder to cry on, someone to talk to, a quiet place to be alone, my family stands ready to help you. I lost my father when I was 12, I know some of what your going through. The city, and county Greaves with you. You are not alone.

Dear Athena, Nicholas & Anthony,
We met your Dad in 1987 in California. A few years later he became our son-in-law and we shared many happy times together. He was always kind and sweet to us and we cared about him very much.
Mikey (we called him that) was always there whenever my husband and I needed help with anything. It certainly makes sense that he would be in a career where he would be of service to other people. I know the residents of Licking will miss his presence on the police force and also miss him personally.
He was such a caring person and I know he must have loved you with all of his heart. During this difficult time, we hope that the good memories you have of your Dad will help ease your pain.
Sending our prayers and love,
Linda & Mike Harrington

Mike was such a pillar of this community, and a blessing as well. He will be missed by many of us who knew him for along time, as well as those who maybe just had the pleasure of knowing for any length of time.
He was one of the most devoted fathers that I had the pleasure of knowing. He was always there for his children showing love and kindness. He also showed the children in our community that he was there for them. He will be missed by so many in our area.
May his family be comforted knowing he is in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
