Obituary of Frances Coltrain

Myrtle Frances Coltrain was born June 22, 1936, in Des Moines,IA, to Clifford Frank Cutler and Lola Loraine (Foland) Cutler. She passed away on February 3, 2015. She met Joe Emery Coltrain while attending Abraham Lincoln High School in Des Moines, Iowa. They were married June 19, 1955. Frances is survived by her husband Joe Coltrain; two sisters Karen Denton and Judy Frederick, one son Michael Allan Coltrain and many grandchildren and g/grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son and two daughters; Patrick Lee Coltrain, Diane Elizabeth (Coltrain) Smith and Joann Allice (Coltrain) Madden. Frances accompanied Joe to Japan 1956 - 1957. They lived in California until 1969 then moved to Colorado. While living in Colorado, Fran was a legal secretary. Fran was church pianist and organist in her church for many years. In 1992 they moved to their farm near Licking, MO. She loved living on this farm. Fran and Joe have said many times that it was the best move of their lives. They have made more friends than they have ever had in their life here. She enjoyed gardening, canning, working with their livestock, and was an accomplished seamstress for many years.
