June Hagler was born June 7, 1922 in rural Dent County Missouri to William Linzie and Bessie Tyree Hagler. He passed away at the age of 90 on February 17, 2013 at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was married to Lura Crow on June 24, 1945 at the home of her parents in Licking, Missouri. June proudly served in the US Navy during World War II. He enlisted on October 1, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri and was discharged on October 1, 1945. June was baptized into Christ in March of 1955. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ until his passing. June loved his church family and had many friends in the Licking community that he counted as family. June was a lifelong resident of Licking until December 2011 when health problems required him and Lura to move to Springfield, Missouri to be near their son Byron and his wife Dana. June enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching baseball with family and friends. He loved watching the Licking and Springfield High School teams, Drury University Baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He had great joy in his daily visits with the “Coffee Shop Crew” at Hood’s Frosty Treat. To no one’s surprise he quickly made many good friends at the Cambridge Retirement Community in Springfield, Missouri. Preceding June in death were his parents, four brothers; John, Dorse, Marshall, and Gene Hagler , three sisters; Eunice Gross, Ruby Bergum and Maxine Pepmiller. He is survived by his wife Lura Hagler of Springfield; son Byron Hagler and daughter-in-law Dana also of Springfield; grandson Lance Hagler and wife Andrea with four great grandchildren of Clinton, Michigan; two sisters, Clarice Berry of Potosi, Missouri and Bessie Marie Rohrich of Green Valley, Arizona; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
