Rhonda Louise Gallion was born September 14, 1917, in Fredericktown, Missouri to Jesse T. Boyd and Almeda Mae (Young) Boyd. She went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2014. Rhonda Louise married William Eli Gallion on November 26, 1939 in Elvins, Missouri. She is survived by three children, Rev. Katherine Darlene Payne and husband Rev. Robert Payne, Merrilee Ellen Harris, and William Dean Gallion and wife Kathy. Nine grandchildren, Rev. Vincent Payne, Sr. and wife Karis, Rachel Ugaz and husband Diego, Rev. Dawna Watkins and husband Rev. Aaron Watkins, Areel Darhower and husband Bobby, Scott Trevor Harris and wife Wanda, William Keith Gallion and wife Sherri, Johnny Gallion, Charles Stroud and wife Elizabeth and Jonathan Stroud. Great grandchildren: Vincent, Jr, Katie, Ellie, Elijah, and Micah Payne, Nicholas and Xanthus Watkins, Jade and Cale Darhower, Auron and Ema Gallion, Curtis, Kimberley Stierwalt and husband Chad, C.J., Christopher, and Cameron Stroud. Great great-grandchild Hunter Stierwalt. One sister by birth, Roberta Boyd and one sister by love and friendship, Lou Messina. Sister-in-law, Olga Gallion. She was a second mother to several: Tim Davis, Vickie and Kenny Harris, and David Heavin. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Rhonda was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, an infant daughter, a sister Elise Turnbull, a brother Jesse T. Boyd, Jr., son-in-law Rev. William Harris and infant great-grandson William Jacob Watkins. Rhonda lived many years in St. Charles, Missouri where she was active in First Baptist Church and helped to charter Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Orchard Farm Baptist Church, Harvester Baptist Church and Cave Springs Baptist Church. When she and her husband moved to Edgar Springs in 1969 she became active at Edgar Springs Baptist Church. Rhonda was always mission minded and active in the Women’s Missionary Union. Her favorite bible passages were Romans 12 and II Timothy 2:15. She baked and decorated cakes for many birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. She taught cake decorating at the local high schools. During nurses training and while living in Utah during the war, she served as a private duty nurse. She was very active all during her children’s school years, serving as PTA president, home room mother, coordinating many activities and fund raisers for the school. She loved to visit with people on the phone. She participated in the Relay for Life Walk for Texas County for many years.
