To the family... I just came across this obituary. I was Teddy's 6th grade teacher at Washington Elementary School, Mattoon. Following the first day of school that year, he asked if I would allow him to clean the slate chalkboards and erasers each day. I appreciated that a great deal. Teddy and I had many good conversations after school that year. I so enjoyed having him in my class, the only year I taught at Washington. Also, I became very good friends with the custodian... Teddy's father.
