Harold Ewing Lane, son of Claude Ewing and Clara Susan (Smith) Lane, was born December 19, 1932 in Big Piney, Missouri. He passed away December 5, 2016 at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. When Harold was five years old, his mother passed away and he was raised by his aunt and uncle,Delphia and AdlaiMeltabarger in Beulah,Missouri. Harold attended elementary school in Beulah, Missouri and graduated from Licking High School in 1952. He served in the United States Navy from 1952-1956. Harold was united in marriage to Lou Ella Robbins December 27, 1952. In their early years of marriage, they served six years as house parents for many young men at Boys' Town of Missouri in St. James, Missouri. Harold received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri in 1968. After teaching in the public school system several years, he received his Master of Science degree in education at Central Missouri State University in 1975. Harold spent most of his career working as an Education Services Officer at Fort Leonard Wood Education Center. Following his retirement, he substituted in the local school systems, worked part-time in the education department of South Central Correctional Center, and volunteered in High School Equivalency classes. Harold is survived by one son, Phillip and wife Sara of Licking, Missouri, one granddaughter, Melissa Valenciano and husband, Joe of Overland Park, Kansas, two great grandchildren, Dezi and Isabel Valenciano, brothers Bob, Bill, Danny, sisters Della, Linda, Rhonda and Phyllis. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers Elvin, Lloyd, Larry, Roger, and sister, Betty,
