Billie “Bill” B. Krewson, Sr. was born on Thursday July 18, 1940 at Cedar Grove, MO. His parents were Glen C. and Leora N. (York) Krewson. Bill was the third of four children. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: brothers Doyle Krewson, Don Krewson, and Larry Krewson. Bill went to be with our Lord and Savior on, Monday, October 17, 2016 at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, MO. He was 76 years, 2 months, and 29 days old. Bill graduated from Salem High School in 1958. After graduation, Bill proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was Honorably Discharged in 1978. He faithfully served in the U. S. Navy for 20 years. Upon his retirement he returned to Licking, MO. During his time in the Navy, Bill was an aircraft mechanic on several aircraft carriers. His job was important to the safety of all soldiers who flew and all on the ground who relied on the air men for protection. As time went on Bill was promoted to AMS1. During his time in the Navy, Bill received numerous awards and commendations including the Navy Achievement Medal, National Defense Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. After his time in the service he returned to Licking, MO to be near his family. He worked at the local John Deere store for over 20 years. You could still find him every summer haying for someone. Bill married his wife of almost 27 years, Pat (Maples) Krewson on Saturday, October 28, 1989. To this union they brought together two families. Billie B. Krewson, Jr. (Hazel) Licking, MO, Renee McComas (Ralph) Success, MO, Kristi Hess (Vincent) San Antonio, TX, Larry Krewson (Becky), Licking, MO, Debbie Schwartz (preceded him), Michael Wilson (Diane) St. Peters, MO, Lisa Hensley, DeSoto, MO, Kim Wilson (preceded him). His grandchildren include: Zackary, Hunter, and Kimrey Krewson; PJ (Ashley) Murray; Dakota (Mikayla) Murray; Garrett and Anna Hess; Keysa (Taran) Stokes, Jordan and Audrey Krewson; Tobe (Jen) Wilson; Jodie Wilson; Jason (Lisa) Stacy and Trish Wallace. He had 13 great-grandchildren. Bill was a man who never met a stranger. He enjoyed his morning visits, and sometimes afternoons, to the local café to visit with his friends. If it was Saturday, there was bound to be an auction and he was at it. If it was Sunday, there was bound to be a Nascar race and he was watching #48 Jimmy Johnson One of his traditions was his annual fishing trip to Florida with his “Buddy Michael.” This was the only thing that could keep him from an auction in late January, early February. Many tales would be told, some with pictures to prove it. He was very proud of how his son followed in his footsteps and joined the Navy. He enjoyed a good basketball and baseball game watching his grandchildren play. He enjoyed the times he got to fish with his grandchildren. He loved all his family! He enjoyed “giving it” just as much as “taking it”. He lived for a good coconut cream pie. He was a member of the Licking VFW Post 6337 and Fleet Reserve Association Houston, MO. Bill leaves to mourn his passing; his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, his friends at PJ’s and his constant companion Tinker. He was a great man! All those who had the opportunity to meet and know Bill are better because of him! He will be sadly missed by all.
