Obituary of Avis A. Beers

Avis (Ann) was born August 21, 1938 to Virgil Coy (CV) and Goldia Arlena (Gorman) Barton. She married Walter Hayward Wethy February 23rd, 1957 to this union four children were born. She married Everette Beers January 11th, 1998 and the union had no children. Avis Beers passed on May 1, 2016 in Springfield at the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 10 days. Survivors include children, Walter Wayne Wethy, Rolla; Virgil Harold Wethy and wife Sharon, Portage, Mich.; Rose Marie Farmer, Husband Ted and Debbie Goff, Springfield; and Donald Coy Wethy, St. James; Sister Ruby Gladean Helton, St.Clair; Grandchildren Elisha Ann Wethy, Springfield; Jason Robert Wethy, Rolla; Steven Wethy, Phoenix, Az.; Virginia Wethy, Amanda (Wethy) Hayes, both of Portage, Mich.; Teddy Allen and wife Kristen, Michael Goff, Springfield; Corey James Farmer and fiance Jerricca Crow, of Marshfield; Lacy Marie (Wethy) Guinn, Kathleen (Wethy) O'Donnell, and Donald (Shine) Wethy, St James; Great-grandchildren Elexis Ann, Chloe Alizabeth, and Rubie Arlena Rude, all of Iberia; Madison and Mikaila Hayes, Makena Watson, all of Portage, Mich.; Teddy Neil Farmer, Springfield; Sidney Skye and Sylvia Raine Crow, Marshfield; Taylor Shipp, Salem; and Gaige Guinn, St James. Other family Doris Wethy, Rolla; Linda Bullock, St James; and William Rude, Rolla; And many In-Laws, Neices and Nephews. Preceded in Death by Her Parents; Husbands; Her Twin sister, Mary Loretta Barton; Brothers, George Coy and Hayward Ray Barton; Nephews, John (Chip) Hopper, AI Helton, and Eddie Wethy. Avis spent most of her life taking care of her family. Her Children, Grandkids, and Great-grandchildren could always put a smile on her face. She moved to Springfield 8 monthes ago to live with her Daughter’s family, and be closer to 2 Grandsons and her newest Grandson Neil. She spent 4 or 5 days a week with Neil. Avis was a collector, she had collected Cookie Jars, John Wayne things, and anything Elvis. She will be missed by many family and friends.
