Cleo Williams of Licking, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014, she was 85. Cleo was born on February 22, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Fred and Ellen Chambers. Cleo was a graduate of Licking High School class of 1947. Miss Cleo Chambers was united in marriage to Clyde Williams on November 4, 1947 and to this union four sons were born; she and Clyde raised their family on a small farm just outside of Licking in the Sherrill, Missouri community. They raised a few head of cattle, and Cleo enjoyed getting out in the spring planting a big garden, all while looking forward to reaping the harvest of her labor and sharing the bounty with family and friends. She spent most of the summer canning fruits, vegetables, and making jams and jellies so her family would have fresh food all year long; Cleo took great pride in her family and her church, she attended the Licking Church of Christ for over 50 years. She loved planning and hosting family events, and would spend days cooking for them. Family gatherings are fondly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and siblings. Cleo was extremely loyal to her family and friends and would go out of the way to help somebody; Cleo also loved to make quilts for everyone, she made them for the children, grandchildren, and even some of the great-grandchildren. Until her health no longer permitted Cleo would take her friends to church, the grocery store, or the Dr's office. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend She will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her. Cleo is survived by her sons, Doug Williams and wife Kathy, of Licking, MO, Dallas Williams and wife Lynn, of Bethany, OK, Denver Williams and wife Sandy, of Licking, MO, and Clifton Williams and wife Ruth, of Salem, MO; sister, Pat Fluehr and husband Robert; brothers, Donald Chambers and wife Lenora, and Glen Chambers and wife Nadine; sisters-in-law, Doris Chambers, and Dana Scott and husband Coy. Seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents Cleo was preceeded in death by her husband Clyde Williams, sisters, Helen Miller, and Fern Warnecke; brothers Dale, Gerald, Harry Chambers, and sister-in law Virgie Lafferty.
