Stephen Alvin Mitchell, (Steve) son of Robert Davis Mitchell and Naomi Adele (Swiggert) Mitchell, was born November 5, 1928 near Licking, Missouri. Steve departed this life February 1, 2016 at Licking Park Manor in Licking, Missouri.
He is survived by one sister, Emily Francis Todaro of Granite City, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary Virginia Noel, Elsie Kathleen Hendon and Wilda Gayle Peth; and four brothers, Eli Burke Mitchell, Garner Kingston Mitchell, Robert Lee Mitchell and James Wilson Mitchell.
During his early years, Steve worked in St. Louis and California before returning to the Licking-Roby area where he worked until his health forced him to enter a nursing home. While in the nursing home, Steve always enjoyed going to Roby to visit with his many friends. He also liked to spend time with his relatives in the Licking area and never missed the annual family reunion. Steve will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
