Obituary of William C. Wade
Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William Calvin (Bill) Wade, son of the late Millard David and Bessie Ivis Wade, was born at Kinderpost, Missouri July 19, 1934 and passed away at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri March 18, 2014.
Bill was a bachelor and took care of his mother until her death.
In his younger days, Bill worked hauling hay and handling cattle. He later worked for Hogan Construction in Rolla, Missouri.
He loved to visit and tell stories. When he learned your name and where you were from, he usually knew your family and had stories to tell. He never forgot a name and even when he was in the hospital, he surprised the nurses when he could tell them stories about their fathers or grandfathers.
Bill always looked forward to spring and planting his tomato garden, which he loved to share with his friends and neighbors. He took great pride in his lawn and kept it mowed to perfection.
The highlight of his days in the last few years was going to auctions and visiting with his buddies. He enjoyed his daily visits to Hood’s and visiting with the men who came. They all had stories to tell and Bill always told his share.
He is survived by sisters-in-law, Hazel (Wade) Gomes and Louise Wade; nieces and nephews, Linda James, Carol Babcock, Henry Fischer, Charlotte Watskey, Scott Wade, Randy Wade, Garry Wade, Robert Wade, Judy VanPatton, Gaylon Wade, Jane Weiss, MaryLou Legsdin, JoAnn New, Patty Crawford, Marvin Hogan, Tom Hogan, and Pam Schuchat.
Bill was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Irene Hogan, Cray Wade, Charles E. Wade, Leslie L. Wade, Beatrice Schmidt, Nellie Fischer and Richard Wade.
