Obituary of Dorothy Price

Dorothy (Wade) Price was born September 26, 1932 to Charlie and Cora (Firestine) Wade and passed away February 26, 2014 at Houston House, Houston, Missouri at the age of 81. Dorothy or “Dottie” as she liked to be called was loved by many. She always liked to have her nails done, jewelry on and dressed nice. She made many special friends while living at Houston House and will be missed by all who knew her. She loved to have visitors and everyone would always get a hug and kiss when they left. She was a very loving person. She worked in Houston, Texas at Marie Callenders as a waitress and while working there, she met Sharon Ulah, who remained a very close friend over the years. She designed the strawberry pies for Marie Callenders. Dottie enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels. She loved to dance and to listen to country music. She also enjoyed spending time with the family, especially when they would have a fish fry. She attended the Christian Church as long as her health permitted. Dorothy married Bill Cooper in 1949 and divorced later. To that marriage was born four sons; Michael and wife Minh Cooper of Houston, Texas, Patrick and wife Ruth Cooper of Houston, Texas, Danny and wife Shannon Cooper of Reno, Nevada, Stephen Cooper of Columbia, Missouri; a granddaughter, Hillary; a grandson, Juston. She married John Price of Houston, Texas, he passed of MS and she then moved back to Missouri. Her son, Stephen took care of her until her health failed. She is survived by by her four sons; several brothers and sisters, Art Wade and wife Faye, Richard Wade and wife Dot, Paul Wade and wife Debbie and Dean Wade and wife Judy all of Licking, Missouri, Florence Cassidy and Sue Crewse both of Roby, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy donated her body to science.
