Obituary of Sandra Sue Floyd

Sandra Sue Floyd, 62, was born March 7, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to Othel Roy and Thelma (Beasley) Bailie. She passed away November 11, 2013 at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri. She met Bill Floyd and they were married January 20, 1968 at the Licking United Methodist Chrurch. They celebrated their 45 anniversary this year. They were blessed with three children, William Shane Floyd (Becky) of Chillicothe, Missouri; Haley Jane Joyner (Bill) and Corey Joseph Floyd (Tina) both of Licking, Missouri. Sandy was Nana to seven grankids, William Micheal of Mississippi; Leon, Bailie Jane, Skyleer Joseph, Krysta MaHaley, Corin Eli and Mary Katherine (Katie) all of Licking; a sister to Shirley and Marvin Umfleet, Opal and Lloyd Beasley, Bobbie Faye Krewson, Denny and Judy Bailie and Larry and Myrna VanDeusen; and a sister-in-law to Kay Floyd and Carole Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leon Bailey; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Diane; nieces and nephews, Lisa, Danny and Erin Floyd. In high school, she played the drums and was a big part of her LHS Class. She had many jobs, but her profession was a hairdresser in her own shop called Talk of the Town. She also worked one day a week for Carol Longwell in Houston, Missouri. Her passion was the Licking United Community Help Center. Sandy loved organizing things. In 1976 she planned the Bicentennial celebration in Licking from street dances to greased pigs. She helped with the Miss Merry Christmas pageants, LHS Alumni banquets and Fashion and Hair Shows. Sandy also loved holidays; she was known for decorating for Halloween and Christmas. She and Bill would always have great gatherings. Several years ago, she owned a second-hand store called Second Hand Rose in Licking. Sandy loved cooking and was a wonderful cook, she also was an excellent seamstress, making quilts for her kids and grandkids. Sandy was a member of the Licking United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for a short period of time. She performed at the Meramac Music Hall in Steeville, Missouri, the Ozark Extravaganza in Vichy, Missouri and also for weddings and funerals. She will be missed by ALL her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother and Nana, she had the patience of a Saint.
