Delores Jean Seydlitz, daughter of the late Cloyd H. and Minnie (Johnson) Hickey, was born in Papallion, Nebraska May 6, 1922, the eldest of seven children. She went to be with her Lord November 10, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
She was united in marriage to Gerald Kearn who was killed in World War II, and to this union a daughter, Geraldine was born. She later married Verner S. Seydlitz who preceded her in death, October 16, 1967. To this union, seven children were born.
Delores loved her flowers, gardening and canning everything she grew and when she wasn’t in her garden, she would sit and embroider. She was an excellent cook, who loved to cook, and when you sat down to eat at her table; if you left hungry, it was your own fault. When it came to gardening, if it could be grown in Texas county, Missouri, it was in her garden; and if you could eat it, she would cook it.
She is survived by her children, Raymond, Ralph and companion, Jackie, Ruth and husband, Alan Haneline, Mary and husband Roger Hill, Betty and husband Garry Scantlin, David and companion Paula and Geraldine Kearn; stepsons, Richard and companion Lillie and Ronald and wife Alberta; two sisters, Arlene and Bess; three brothers, Bounce, Roy and Glen; eleven grandchildren; sixteen step-grandchildren and a great many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Robert; step-daughter, Joyce and husband Milton Etter; stepson, William and wife, Lois Seydlitz; step-grandson, Ron Seydlitz and a brother, Merlin Hickey.
