Obituary of Lorene Johnson

Gracy Lorene Johnson was born in Shirley, Arkansas on October 11, 1928. She entered heaven’s gate on August 09, 2013. Lorene was the daughter of the late Roy Davidson, Stella (Gibbons) Davidson- Breedlove and Aaron Breedlove. She was the eldest of six devotedly close sisters and brothers. Over the years she lovingly cared for each of them as if they were her own children. Lorene had two additional brothers who preceded her in death; Joel Davidson and JC Davidson. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and heart of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing, love and faith. After graduating from Herber Springs High School and working at the local five and dime, she met her sweetheart, Arthur D. Johnson who worked for her father at the time. They were married July 10, 1948 in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Married for 65 years, Lorene and Arthur raised their 2 children, Gene and Brenda after moving to Licking, MO. Gene preceded Lorene in death from a fatal accident in 1968. After her retirement from Rawlings Sporting Goods she and Arthur enjoyed just being together at their home visiting with family and friends. To her grandchildren, Brad and Joley and great-grandchildren she was affectionately known as “Ma Ma”. She nurtured them over the years with her gentle, graceful example of faith, kindness, courage and resilance. Those who met her at the gates of Heaven were her parents, her son, two brothers Joel Davidson and JC Davidson; two nieces: Beth Ann Osborne, Dena (Hildreth) Peterson; brother-in-law Jay Osborne; in-laws: Ester and James Johnson, Paul Maynard, Otis and Irene Taylor, Ollie and JW Spires, and Barbara Johnson. Her surviving family members are numerous, but mainly include her husband of 65 years Arthur D. Johnson; her daughter, Brenda and husband Jerry Mitchell; two grandchildren Brad and wife Nancy Mitchell and Joley and husband Todd Michaelson; eight great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Kersten and Kamryn Mitchell and Cashel, Ascher, Rosalie, Christian and Caleb Michaelson; her sisters and brothers and their spouses; Alta Osborne, Jim and Kerma Breedlove, Pat and Bill Hildreth, Shelby and Linda Breedlove, and Charlene Jones; nieces, nephews and their spouses: Greg and Patty Osborne, Joni and Todd Scott, Lori and David Held, Rodney Osborne, Jeff and Linda Breedlove, Pam and Randy Creighton, Dawnella and Rob Holt, Jerry Breedlove, Connie and Bill Peterson, Joe and Angie Breedlove, Scott and Lisa Breedlove, Bob Holtz and friend Jackie and Erich and Suzy Jones; in-laws: Naomi Maynard, JB Johnson, John Johnson and Mary Verser; a special cousin Evelyn Towell, and numerous other relatives and friends.
