Obituary of J. Hobert Trentham

John Hobert Trentham Hobert Trentham son of John David and Eddie (Lincoln) Trentham, was born July 20, 1930 at Bessville, Missouri and entered into eternal rest on August 2, 2013, at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, MO. He was united in marriage to Gerri Trentham on June 27, 1953. To this union, four children were born. Hobert started his work career by driving a truck when he was 15 years old hauling lumber from south east Missouri to Illinois. He moved to St. Louis and went to work for Rawlings Sporting Goods lacing baseballs. He worked his way up through the ranks. He moved his family to Licking,MO from Kirkwood in 1965. He was plant manager of Rawlings in Licking for 25 years. He left Rawlings in 1980 and took a job with Parmount Headwear and became the director of manufacturing until his retirement in 1997. After retiring he ran a cattle farm which he thourghly enjoyed until his health began to decline a few years ago. Hobert was an avid baseball fan and played on several teams in his younger years. He also loved to train and hunt bird dogs and had several very good ones in his life. He enjoyed several fishing trips to Canada after retirement with friends he talked about often. He liked to camp with his wife and friends. Most of all he loved his family especially his grandchildren and was always there for them. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Gerri; his parents; three brothers Cecil, Lindell, Paul; a sister Betty; his son-in-law Kevin Floyd. He is survived by his children Dan and wife, Diana of Licking, Tom and friend Joan of Iberia, MO, Bob and wife Carolyn ofOzark,MO ,Cheryl Floyd of Licking, five granddaughters, four grandsons and 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters Lola Mills of Patton, MO and Jane Follen of St. Louis, MO., one brother T.J. Trentham of Rolla,MO, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was known to many as a fair and decent man. He will be missed.
