TONES: It's been 4 years now since you left this earth. Its never been the same for me since you left. I MISS YOU BEYOND WORDS. I am grateful for the things you taught me. I have tried to carry those things here on earth as to honor you and who you were. I use to hate to hear people say "time will heal things" Time will NEVER HEAL ME AFTER LOSING YOU. WE HAD SO MUCH LEFT TO DO TOGETHER but I know I have to accept Gods Plan. Im grateful for your presence in dreams I have had and in feeling your presence with me. I look to Heaven and see you smiling at me and giving me THAT WINK I ALWAYS LOVED. THATS WHAT KEEPS ME GOING. I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN IN HEAVEN. AS FOR NOW, REMEMBER HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU. Tell Dad and Lawrence hi for me. Teresa

Today is Christmas and I can't help but think about all the fun we had shopping for family, making pineapple upside down cakes for friends and delivering flowers to our lawn customers. Our famous and unique Christmas bears that we use to shop for and give to the kids that we worked with. I MISS YOU EVERY DAY. I miss your smile and all the things we did together. I just miss you. All of you. I have all my bird feeders out and on rough days where I'm really missing you, it's amazing how the Lord gives a sign from Heaven and that special cardinal will show up at the feeder and at my bedroom window and just stare at me. I know it's you and it helps me keep going! Merry Christmas Tony. I love you. Always have, always will. Teresa

It's been 3 years now since you went to be with our Lord.
I miss you as much today as I did the day you entered Heaven.
There's not a day or night that goes by that I don't think of you and all the fun, silly days and nights we had together. I miss you beyond words Tony and you will always be in my heart forever.

Summers are hard without you. I think of all the yards we mowed, trees we trimmed and garage sales we ventured to. I miss our time looking at the stars, the moon and the water. I know look at the sky and think of how I can't wait to see you again in Heaven. Miss you beyond words. Teresa

I have known Tony at least since 2005. He started mowing my Mother's yard and she thought he was really nice. He helped me with many things such as yard work, hauling items away and moving some things. He would always cheer me up and you could talk to Tony about anything from school politics to our dogs. He had a great personality and sense of humor. He will be missed so much and I know he is probably helping God in Heaven.

So sorry to read of the passing of Tony Bates. Whenever I needed something in the library at Study Middle School, Tony found it. For example, I needed shoe boxes for a library project with classes. The shoe boxes needed a lid that could be removed. Wouldn't you know, Tony came with a truckload of shoe boxes complete with white bridesmaid shoes? If it was good for kids, he was all over it. He will be missed. I can't imagine not seeing his smiling face walking into the library just to see what's happening. My sincere sympathy to his family.

To the family of Tony Bates, I share your deep sadness in this unexpected and sudden loss. Just two weeks ago today I called Tony. He said he was at his farm eating blackberry jam. Said it was very good and shared the recipe with me. As fellow teachers at Marshfield, Tony and I shared many fun times together. Whether fishing on the lake or making trout landing nets in his woods shop it was always with lots of energy. Once when he thought I needed a better car he found me one, which I sold a few years later for twice what I paid. When he would come into my classroom he would say, “Tell me something I don’t know”. Today on I-44 I was passed by a little old white Chrysler convertible. I knew it wasn’t Tony, because it wasn’t red.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I was one of Tony's students from Pleasant Hope High School Class of 1979. We just had our 35 th reunion and tried to find out his location to invite him, but failed . Then one member said he could find him so we planned to invite him to a December get together- but now that too will not happen. He had made a book of the fire at our school and was looking forward to sharing memories of those days with him. May he rest in sweet peace and will always be remembered by those he made an influence on during his teachings. He was our class sponsor because we thought of him as a fun person to be with .L

To the family of Tony Bates; I am so very heartbroken to hear of Tony's passing. I was one of his students at Pleasant Hope High School. He was not only an instructor, he was a good friend. We used to love it when he would bring his Saint Bernard's to class, and tell us of his flying adventures. He was a good person, inside and out. I am honored not only to have his guidance in the classroom, but his friendship outside of school. May God comfort each of you in this difficult time. RIP Tony...you now have your Angel Wings.Class of 1978

We will miss Tony at our afterschool programs. Tony was the most caring person. He made sure each child had his attention while learning. He was creative with new ways to teach reading and math. Children never wanted to leave and go home while Mr.Tony was tutoring. A big hole will be in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know Tony.
