Hershel Eugene Adey Obituary

Hershel Eugene Adey, age 89, was born at Arthur’s Creek on September 13, 1936, to Hazel Marie (Jordan) Adey and Marvin Conway Adey. He passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his beloved family, on December 19, 2025.

Hershel was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Carla Faye Adey; and his brother, Marvin Dewayne Adey.

A man who found joy in simple pleasures and honest work, Hershel enjoyed hunting, playing cards, horseshoes, and bowling. He had a deep appreciation for the land and took great pride in raising horses and cattle. Many cherished memories were made in the fur shed, on the river, and in the woods—memories later shared, laughed over, and relived around the card table. These moments, along with his 40-year career at Rawlings, led to the formation of countless lasting friendships. His quiet strength, steady presence, and deep love for his family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Juanita Marie (Wyble) Adey; his son, Randy Eugene Adey, and wife Theresa; his grandchildren, Lucas Eugene Adey and wife Ashley, and Amanda Marie (Adey) Floyd and husband Jake; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Addison Lynn Floyd, Conway Michael Adey, Jocie AnnMarie Floyd, Trapper Austin Adey, Sayge Ilene Adey, Hinley Irmalee Floyd, and Timber May Adey.

Services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 2:00 PM at Fox Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fox Funeral Home in Licking, Missouri. Online condolences may be left at www.foxfh.net.
