James Blackmore Drewel, 84, son of George and Lucille (Taylor) Drewel, was born June 7, 1935 in Marshall, Michigan. James peacefully passed away on January 5, 2020 in Springfield, Missouri. James is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Theresa; daughters, Tammy Smith, Nancy Major, and Diane Hafner; son, James A. Drewel; sister Martha Snodgrass; along with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. James is preceded in death by his sons, Douglas J. Drewel and Jonathan M. Drewel; and his three siblings. James was in the Navy for 20 years and retired from the military in 1976. James was very proud of his time in the service. He served in the Vietnam War, the Cuba Crisis, helped retrieve the Apollo 17 and Skylab II. After his retirement, he became an avid farmer and worked as a truck driver.
